You may attempt to find representation
by attending open calls and submitting your photographs. I have to warn you,
however, that the in some cases the people viewing submissions might be miserable
interns who might quickly dismiss you. So don’t let it get to you. You can search for open calls on
their page or call them up and ask the good old fashioned way:
You may view the list a
list of a few of the well known agencies here:

Be sure to take photographs of
yourself as well as heels to the open calls.
Actors
It is equally difficult for actors
to get representation. You will definitely need a headshot and a resume to send
out to agencies. It is a good idea to get a copy of Ross Reports (found at
newsstands) to see which agents are accepting submissions. Then send out your
headshot and resume to the people that are accepting and good luck! If you have
a reel then definitely include that in your submissions. A reel is a
compilation of video clips of the work you have done that shows your capacity
as an actor. The more you have on it the better.
It is hard for anyone to get
representation so don’t feel discouraged. If you have the perseverance you can
continue to look for castings independently until you get discovered.
Some websites where you may get
castings:
www.modelmayhem.com (the casting
section)
www.craigslist .org (the talent,
creative or TV Film section)
www.nycastings.com
www.mandy.com
Use common sense when searching
through the castings on the sites. Even though they are well known sites
sketchy individuals always find their way onto them.
